MUSIC: Ed Sheeran announces three Irish concerts for 2022 as part of new tour

It’s safe to say that Ed Sheeran fans in Ireland have probably just heard the best news in the last 18 months as the red-headed musician is set to play three Irish shows in the year 2022.

Considering that we’re already in September, which comes as a shock to many, 2022 doesn’t seem too far away.

The shows will be part of a new major tour in support of Ed’s forthcoming album. The tour, called  + – = ÷ x pronounced as ‘The Mathematics Tour’ has been locked in for dates in Cork, Limerick and Belfast.

Aiken Promotions confirmed the news, stating that the 30-year-old will be playing Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork on the 28th of April, Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick on the 5th of May and Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast on May 12th.

But what about fans living in Dublin? Let’s just say that there have been rumours of Sheeran nailing down a residency in the Phoenix Park or two nights at Croke Park.

However, only time will tell if these rumours prove to be true.
