Man dies following serious collision on M3 motorway

Investigations are ongoing following a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred on the M3 motorway in Meath in the early hours of this morning.

The collision occurred at approximately 1am between Junction 5 and Junction 6 on the southbound lane of the M3.

Following the collision, a man in his 50s was killed after his car veered off the road and hit a ditch. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

GardaĆ­ are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.

As well as witnesses, any road users in possession of dash-cam footage who were travelling on the M3 between Navan and Dunboyne between 12:30am and 1:20am have also been asked to contact gardaĆ­.
