Niki Minaj’s vaccine claims dismissed by Trinidad and Tobago’s Health Minister

Trinidad and Tobago’s Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has dismissed Niki Minaj’s vaccine claims.

The rapper claimed that a friend of her cousin became impotent after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine and had to call off his wedding as a result.

Terrence Deyalsingh stated that there is no evidence that any patient in the country suffered such side effects.

“As we stand now, there is absolutely no reported side effect or adverse event of testicular swelling in Trinidad”.

Stating that health officials take these claims seriously, Deyalsingh stated that there was a lot of time wasted yesterday running down the claim.

“Unfortunately, we wasted so much time yesterday running down this false claim,”.

Minaj posted a tweet on Monday claiming that her cousin’s friend’s testicles became swollen after receiving the vaccine and called off his wedding due to the incident.

Encouraging her followers to ensure that they’re comfortable with their decision and not bullied, Minaj stated, “If I get vaccinated it won’t (be) for the Met (Met Gala). It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe,”.

She referred to the Met Gala because she skipped the event as vaccines were required in order to attend.

Health officials worldwide have criticised Niki Minaj’s claims, saying that she was spreading false information about the Covid-19 vaccine.
