Trump blames Democrats for vaccine hesitancy in the US

Former US President Donald Trump has blamed Democrats for the level of vaccine hesitancy in the United States.

Trump had an interview with Fox News, where he said that when he was President Americans were interested in taking the vaccine.

“If you remember, when I was president, there were literally lines of people wanting to take it,” Trump said.

“Now, you have a different situation, and it’s very bad.”

Trump criticised Democrat leaders, including Vice President Kamala Harris, who previously said they wouldn’t get vaccinated if Trump himself was pushing it.

“Of course, they famously said, ‘If Trump came up with it, I’ll never take it,'” Trump said.

“They disparaged the vaccine, and now they wonder why people aren’t wanting to take it? It’s a disgrace.”

VP Kamala Harris said last October: “If Dr. Fauci, the doctors, tell us that we should take it, I’ll be the first in line to take it.”

“But if Donald Trump tells us we should take it, I’m not going to take it.”
