PSNI urgently appeal for witnesses following fatal collision in Tyrone

An investigation remains underway following a fatal car collision that occurred in Tyrone yesterday morning.

The single-vehicle collision occurred on the Kilmascally Road in Ardboe.


The driver of the car was identified as 31-year-old Darren Canavan and his death has shocked an entire community.

The father-of-two is understood to have been driving on the Kilmascally Road at approximately 3am when his car left the road shortly afterwards.

Canavan was pronounced dead at the scene upon the arrival of emergency services.


The PSNI are currently investigating the collision and are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Sprucefield.

It’s understood the Mr. Canavan was driving a grey Mistubishi Warrior.
