RTÉ’s new crime drama Kin kicks off tonight

RTÉ’s new crime drama Kin will be airing tonight on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

The highly-anticipated crime drama follows the life of a fictional Dublin family called the Kinsellas.

It all kicks off when a member of the Kinsella clan is killed by an international cartel, resulting in the Kinsellas going to war with their new rivals.

In what seems like an impossible war for the Kinsellas to win, they find themselves out-numbered, out-gunned and out-financed by the cartel.

Held up in their Dublin stronghold, the Kinsellas witness their businesses fail, as well as their family members and associates get picked off.

However, they have something that the cartel doesn’t possess and that’s the unbreakable bonds of blood and family.

Aidan Gillen, who stars as the family’s father Frank Kinsella, said that the show is “a family drama like a lot of the great crime dramas are.”

“It’s a crime drama set in Dublin so there will be scenes that are brutal and shocking but it’s not in there for the sake of sensation”.

The drama also features Clare Dunne, Ciarán Hinds, Sam Keeley, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Emmet Scanlan and newcomer Yasmin Seky.

The show is set to air at 9:30pm tonight.
