Motorcyclist dies following serious collision in Galway

A motorcyclist has died following a serious collision that involved a car and a motorbike in Galway this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 10am this morning in Renmore on the R338 Old Dublin Road at Renmore Park.


The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was seriously injured following the incident and was pronounced dead a short time later.

His body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway to undergo a post-mortem examination.

Garda Forensic Collision investigators have completed an examination of the scene and the road has since reopened.


GardaĆ­ are urgently appealing for witnesses to contact them.

GardaĆ­ are also appealing to any road users in possession of dash-cam footage who were travelling on the R338 at Renmore Park at the time of the incident, to make the footage available to them.
