Woman appears in court accused of sex act with dog

A young mother from Dublin has been sent for trial accused of having sex with a dog at her home.

The 29-year-old woman is accused of engaging in a sex act with a Rottweiler cross breed dog, but she cannot be named in media coverage, a judge has ordered.

The charge states it is alleged she committed an act of buggery with the dog at her home on a date in December 2019.

Judge John Lindsay granted an order sending the woman forward to trial to the Central Criminal Court.

The judge extended a temporary order forbidding the publication of the woman’s name as she has children, and publishing her name would cause them harm.

A date for her next hearing has yet to be allocated.
