Adrian Dunbar teases Line of Duty return during National Television Awards

Adrian Dunbar may be returning to the role of Superintendent Ted Hastings after teasing the return of Line of Duty during the National Television Awards 2021.

Dunbar gave a speech via video link after the show received the Special Recognition award, during which he stated, “Who knows, we might be back.”

Fans of the hit BBC drama have been slightly reassured by these six words as many were left in utter disappointment by the last episode of season 6 but maybe it’s not over just yet…

Although his statement is quite open-ended, it’s open nonetheless and there may just be a possibility of AC-12 returning for a seventh season.

Creator Jed Mercurio has previously stated that the show has been wrapped up for good and does not have any plan in place for future episodes but just like Dunbar said, “Who knows?”.
