13-year-old boy charged over string of alleged sexual assaults in Dublin

A 13-year-old boy has been charged with multiple alleged sexual assaults on five girls in Dublin.

He appeared before Dublin’s Children Court where he was granted bail with conditions pending directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The five counts of sexual assault took place at two locations in Dublin during March and April of this year.

Three of the incidents allegedly occurred on the same date.

Judge Paul Kelly ordered the boy to obey his bail conditions, have zero contact with the complainants, stay away from the areas where the incidents occurred and obey a curfew.

He was granted legal aid and his next court appearance will be in October, the venue of which has yet to be decided on.

Evidence in relation to the allegations has yet to be heard.
