McDonald’s plant-based burger launch date has been announced for Ireland

McDonald’s Ireland has announced the launch date for its very first plant-based burger, the McPlant.

The burger will be available in Ireland from January 2022 and will allow customers to chose a plant-based menu option.

The burger, which took three years of research and development, will include a plant-based patty, vegan cheese and a new vegan sauce.

The McPlant was officially unveiled in 2020 and has been accredited as vegan by the Vegetarian Society to ensure that it meets the highest vegan standards.

The full package of the burger consists of a vegan sesame bun, mustard, ketchup, vegan sauce, fresh onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese.

It will also be cooked separately from other burgers and sandwiched using utensils.
