Man (60s) dies after being struck by car in Cavan

A man, aged in his 60s, has died after being struck by a car in Cavan last night.

The incident occurred at approximately 9pm on the R198 between Coras Point and Cavan Town.


The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cavan General Hospital to undergo a post-mortem examination later today.

It’s understood that no other injuries were reported following the collision.

GardaĆ­ are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them, as well as road users who have dash-cam footage of the R198 between Cavan town and Crossdoney between 8:30pm and 9:30pm.
