Three dead following suspected murder-suicide in Kerry

Three people have died following a suspected double murder-suicide that took place in Kerry yesterday evening.

The incident occurred at a house in Ballyreehan, Lixnaw, in the north of the county and is currently being investigated by gardaĆ­ in Listowel.


Upon responding to the incident, the body of a woman in her 60s was discovered along with the body of a man in his 20s.

The body of a man in his 60s was also discovered at the back of the house.

A firearm was recovered from the scene and is believed to have been used during the suspected murder-suicide as all three bodies had gunshot wounds.


Investigations remain ongoing and the scene is currently being preserved by gardaĆ­. It’s understood that all three victims were from the same family.
