Premiere date for new RTÉ crime drama Kin announced

RTÉ has announced the premiere date for its new crime drama Kin, which centres on a fictional Dublin family that’s involved in a gangland war.

The gangland war begins when a member of the Kinsella clan is killed, causing the family to “embark on a gangland war with an international cartel, a war that is impossible to win.”

The Kinsella family, who are outnumbered and outgunned by their rivals, witness their businesses fail as well as their family members and associates get picked off. “But they have something the cartel does not, the unbreakable bonds of blood and family…”

The Dublin-based show features a great cast of Irish actors such as Aidan Gillen, Clare Dunne, Ciarán Hinds, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Sam Keeley, Emmett Scanlan and Yasmin Seky.

The eight-part series is produced by BRON Studios and Headline Pictures, in association with RTÉ, AMC, Nordic Entertainment Group and Creative Wealth Media with support from Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.

The show will premiere on Sunday, September 12th at 9:30 on RTÉ One with catch-up on RTÉ Player.
