WATCH: Trailer for powerful new drama ‘Belfast’ could be Oscar worthy

The trailer for Ireland’s very own Kenneth Branagh’s new movie ‘Belfast’ has dropped, and it looks like it could be worthy of an Oscar.

Branagh has directed a wave of Hollywood classics, including Thor, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Cinderella and Murder on the Orient Express.

So, it’s safe to say Branagh has a fantastic resume behind him.

‘Belfast’ is written and directed by Branagh, and is an almost autobiographical drama of his own life growing up in Belfast as part of a working-class family in the 1960s.

The movie focuses on a young boy and his family as they deal with the challenges posed by Belfast in the 1960s, particularly for a working-class family.

The cast includes; Jamie Dornan, Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench and Ciarán Hinds to name a few.

Take a look at the trailer here:

‘Belfast’ will be released in Irish cinemas on Friday, November 12th.
