Slight reduction in Covid-19 hospital numbers

According to the latest figures, there has been a slight reduction in the number of people being treated for Covid-19 in hospital.

Yesterday’s figures revealed that there were 360 people being treated for Covid-19 in Irish hospitals.


As of this morning, there are currently 343 patients being treated for Covid-19, which is a decrease of 17.

ICU numbers have remained the same figure of 56, while the Department of Health reported a further 1,789 new cases of Covid-19 yesterday.

The cumulative number of deaths for those who died with Covid-19 has risen to 5,112 after the Department of Health was notified about 20 deaths in the past week.


NPHET stated that a peak of 2,500 to 3,000 cases per day might be possible by mid-September in a scenario that they described as optimistic.
