Government hoping to have almost all restrictions lifted by October 22nd

Government is aiming to have almost all Covid-19 restrictions lifted by October 22nd.

The only requirement likely to remain will be the use of face coverings in certain settings, such as on public transport or in shops.

From September 6th, it is looking likely that indoor venues will be able to use up to 60% of its capacity for fully vaccinated people.

Outdoor events will be allowed to hold up to 75% capacity for those who are vaccinated.

Restrictions will begin to unwind from next week, and will be continuously gradually eased until the remaining restrictions are lifted on October 22nd.

Cabinet will meet today to finalise the updated roadmap to easing the remaining Covid-19 restrictions.

The Taoiseach will then address the nation this evening, giving a detailed account of the roadmap.
