Cabinet sub-committee on Covid-19 to meet today to discuss further easing of restrictions

The Cabinet sub-committee on Covid-19 is to meet today to discuss the further easing of restrictions.

The sub-committee is chaired by the Taoiseach and its members include the leading Ministers in Government.

The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) met last week to discuss the current epidemiological situation of Covid-19 in the country, and establish reopening advice to give to Government.

The full Cabinet will then meet tomorrow to finalise the roadmap to ease the final Covid-19 restrictions.

NPHET have recommended that the Government wait for 90% of people to be vaccinated before contemplating any major easing of restrictions.

As of yesterday, 87.8% of the adult population are now fully vaccinated.

The Taoiseach will address the nation tomorrow evening, detailing the updated roadmap to easing the final Covid-19 restrictions.
