Public transport will return to 100% capacity next week

Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan has confirmed that public transport will return to 100% capacity from next week.

Public transport is currently operating at 75% capacity.

Ryan said this morning that there will be a series of phased relaxations across the month of September, beginning with public transport.

Ryan said the change to public transport is happening to facilitate the return of schools, colleges and the return to offices.

The Green Party leader said case numbers will remain high and people will need to take personal responsibility, with the continuation of face-coverings etc.

He went on to say that the sunset clauses on a lot of legislation would be reached shortly and legislation will then be removed.

Ryan said as a society we can police ourselves without having to have overly strict structures.
