The Pentagon has said that two ‘high profile’ ISIS-K fighters were killed in an airstrike carried out by the United States.
Major General William “Hank” Taylor confirmed that the drone attack, which took place on Thursday, killed an ISIS-K planner and a facilitator.
The Taliban, who now have control of Afghanistan, has said the U.S should have informed them before conducting the airstrike.
“It was a clear attack on Afghan territory – two people were killed, two women and a child were wounded in the attack,” a Taliban spokesperson said.
The Taliban said Kabul airport will soon be under complete Taliban control.
“We have enough security and technical staff to operate Kabul airport,” the spokesperson continued.
