Teenager released without charge following Limerick collision

A teenager who was arrested following a car collision that occurred in Limerick on Saturday has been released without charge.

The teenager, who was the driver of the car, was arrested following the collision, where a 20-year-old man was pronounced dead and another man was hospitalised.

The man, who was identified as Myles Harty, was due to be married the following day.

Kate Quilligan, who was due to marry Myles, gathered with hundreds more from the wedding party at St. Munchins Church to pay tribute to Myles.

In a love letter to Myles, Quilligan wrote, “I love you forever, it will always be me and you, no matter what. Love you unconditionally my gentle giant. You didn’t deserve this my handsome baby boy.”

His funeral mass will take place tomorrow at 12pm in St. Mary’s Church, Askeaton.

Gardaí will continue to investigate the incident and have urged any road users who are in possession of dash-cam footage that were travelling on the R518 Askeaton to Rathkeale Road at approximately 1am on Saturday to contact them.
