POLL: Should concerts and festivals be opened to full capacity for those who are fully vaccinated?

Throughout the pandemic the music and entertainment sector has been impacted to a considerable degree due to restrictions imposed.

In the past seventeen months in Ireland, the sector has seen little movement from the stalemate it was dealt in March 2020.

However, considering 86% of all people over the age of 12 in Ireland have now received at least one vaccine, with 77.1% fully vaccinated, is it about time a strong push forward was made?

Recently it was confirmed by Laois County Council that Electric Picnic would not be granted a license to continue with its festival this year.

The move initiated a wave of criticism from people wondering when, if not now, will these entertainment events be permitted to take place in Ireland again.

The organisers of Electric Picnic said they were willing to limit the festival to those who are vaccinated, but were still denied the license.

Do you think concerts and festivals in Ireland should be allowed to reopen to full capacity for those who are fully vaccinated?

Or, do you believe, for whatever reason, that the current restrictions on these events is satisfactory?

Should concerts and festivals be opened to full capacity for those who are fully vaccinated?
