Woman killed following two-car collision in Wexford

A woman in her 40s has died while an elderly man was seriously injured following a two-car collision in Wexford.

The collision occurred on the R772 at Scarawalsh at approximately 7:50am this morning.

The woman, who was the driver of one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the other car, a man aged in his 70s, was taken to Wexford General Hospital in serious condition.

No other injuries were reported following the collision. GardaĆ­ are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

They are also urging any road users who were travelling on the R772 at approximately 7:50am this morning and are in possession of dash-cam footage, to contact them.
