Rapper Eminem will be landing his first major acting role since the release of 8 Mile, which came out nearly 20 years ago. The 48-year-old will be starring in 50 Cent’s latest project ‘Black Mafia Family’.
According to The Wrap, Eminem will be playing the role of Rick Wershe Jr, aka White Boy Rick, an FBI informant who ended up in jail for drug possession.
In regards to Eminem’s role in the project, 50 Cent stated that he couldn’t do a show in Detroit “without incorporating the legend that is Eminem.”
“I’m honoured and appreciative of my good friend Em for supporting my new show BMF.”
50 Cent took to Twitter to announce that Episode 7 of the show will be using the same de-ageing technology that was used in Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Irishman’, in order to take Eminem back to his teenage years.
Aside from 8 Mile, Eminem has made several small appearances on TV shows and movies such as Entourage, The Interview and Funny People.
Black Mafia Family is set to premiere on the American network Starz on the 26th of September.
