COVID-19: 1,496 new confirmed cases in Ireland

The Department of Health has confirmed a further 1,496 cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

No information surrounding deaths associated with the virus has been released due to the cyber attack on the HSE.

The Department of Health has also confirmed that there are currently 248 patients with Covid-19 in Ireland, with 54 in ICU.

Yesterday, there were 262 patients in Irish hospitals with Covid-19, with 51 in ICU.

In Northern Ireland, there has been a further 1,564 cases of Covid-19 reported.

Seven further people diagnosed with the virus have also died.
