Young woman dies following road incident in Donegal

A woman in her late 20s has died following a road incident in Donegal yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:45pm on the N15 at Ardnawark, Barnesmore Gap in Donegal Town.

It is understood that the woman was struck by a car after she fell from a moving bus that she was a passenger on.

Following the incident, the woman was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where she was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí will continue to carry out an examination of the scene this morning so the road will remain closed, however, local diversions will be in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.

Gardaí are also appealing to any road users in possession of dash-cam footage who were travelling in the townland of Ardnawark yesterday afternoon to contact them.
