Six dead following shooting in Plymouth, England

Six people, three men and three women, have died following a shooting that took place in Plymouth, England, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.

The incident, which was confirmed as being non-terror-related, occurred at approximately 6pm yesterday.

Two men along with two women were pronounced dead at the scene, at the Keyham area of the city following the shooting, with one victim understood to have been a child.

Another man, believed to be the offender, was also pronounced dead at the scene. The third woman was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead approximately one hour later.

Police have stated that this is the worst mass shooting in Britain since 2010.

The shooter, identified as Jake Davidson, is understood to have turned the gun on himself after shooting the five victims.

One eyewitness stated that she initially heard shouting followed by three to four gunshots to begin with.

The shooter had kicked in the door of a house and began randomly shooting, he then fled from the house while proceeding to shoot people in the linear park.

It is understood that he continued up along Royal Navy Avenue while proceeding to shoot people.

An investigation into the incident currently remains ongoing, while investigators are asking for any witnesses to contact them. They are also urging anyone who may have video footage of the incident to make it available to them.
