The HSE’s vaccination registration portal has opened for those aged 12-15 today in Ireland.
Parents or Guardians will be required to register their children for the vaccine and give consent to do so.
Parents are being encouraged from public health doctor’s to particularly register children who are medically vulnerable.
The HSE is urging parents to read reliable information sources before vaccinating their children, and to discuss the vaccination with their children.
People in this age cohort will be offered an mRNA vaccine, either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna, with both vaccine clinical trials having thousands of candidates in the 12-15 age cohort.
The first vaccinations are expected to be given to this age cohort by the weekend.
People registering for the vaccine will need; PPS number, Eircode, phone number, email address, photo I.D.
