Almost 90% of adults in Ireland have now received at least one Covid-19 vaccine

Almost 90% of adults in Ireland over the age of 18 have now received at least one Covid-19 vaccine.

Chair of the High-Level Task Force on Covid-19 vaccination Brian MacCraith gave an update on the vaccination rollout on Wednesday.

He said that 89.1% of adults in Ireland over the age of 18 have now received at least one vaccine dose.

78.3% of adults are also now fully vaccinated.

The vaccine portal has opened today for children aged 12-15 in Ireland.

Parents or Guardians will be required to register their child, giving consent to the vaccination.

The HSE expects the first vaccines to be administered in this age cohort by this weekend.
