GEC is working on building a giant satellite which will be launched into orbit on a SpaceX rocket next year.

Samuel Reid, CEO and co-founder of GEC spoke with Business Insider, saying that once in orbit, a selfie stick will be used to film whatever is being displayed.

The footage will then be live-streamed on Youtube and Twitch for people to watch.

People and Companies will then be able to purchase advertising space on the satellite.

Samuel Reid said: “I’m trying to achieve something that can democratize access to space and allow for decentralized participation.”

“Hopefully, people don’t waste money on something inappropriate, insulting or offensive.”

“There might be companies which want to depict their logo… or it might end up being a bit more personal and artistic,” he continued.

Elon Musk and SpaceX has yet to comment on the project.
