A woman from the United States is claiming she was brought to the UK when she was seventeen to have sex with Prince Andrew.
Virginia Giuffre was an accuser of Jeffrey Epstein and is now claiming Prince Andrew sexually assaulted her in London and New York.
A spokesperson for Prince Andrew said he was making no comment on the case.
The Prince has consistently denied the allegations against him.
The lawsuit alleges Prince Andrew sexually assaulted Giuffre in London, New York and in the US Virgin Islands.
The case claims the Prince engaged in sexual acts without her consent, knowing how old she was and knowing she was a sex-trafficking victim.
“In this country no person, whether president or prince, is above the law, and no person, no matter how powerless or vulnerable, can be deprived of the law’s protection,” the lawsuit reads.
“Twenty years ago Prince Andrew’s wealth, power, position, and connections enabled him to abuse a frightened, vulnerable child with no one there to protect her. It is long past the time for him to be held to account.”
Prince Andrew has continued to deny the accusations.
“It didn’t happen. I can absolutely categorically tell you it never happened. I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever,” Prince Andrew told the BBC in 2019.
