Man arrested by PSNI investigating the death of 2-year-old girl

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a two-year-old girl in Northern Ireland.

The young child was admitted to hospital yesterday afternoon after sustaining a serious head injury. The child later died in hospital.


The incident occurred in Dungannon, Tyrone.

PSNI arrested a 32-year-old man in relation to the incident, and he remains in custody.

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.


“Our thoughts are with the child’s family, which is being supported by Family Liaison Officers,” a PSNI official said.

No further information has been released at this time.
