Government to publish road map to end Covid-19 restrictions

It’s understood that the government intends to publish a road map by the end of this month for the easing or ending of remaining Covid-19 restrictions.

This follows a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Covid-19, and contains a detailed update on the current situation.

The government stated that it understands the frustration felt by the sectors of the economy which have remained restricted by current health regulations.

It’s also hoped that restrictions around ceremonies such as communions and confirmations will be lifted by September.

Noting the concern expressed by church leaders over communions and confirmations, the government will be further engaging with faith leaders in the coming weeks.

The statement concludes by saying that the government will be monitoring the progress of the virus and vaccination programme.

The publishing of the road map is aimed for the end of August.
