COVID-19: 1,491 new confirmed cases in Ireland

The Department of Health has confirmed a further 1,491 cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

No information surrounding deaths associated with the virus has been released due to the cyber attack on the HSE.

The Department further confirmed that there are currently 193 patients in Irish hospitals with Covid-19, with 28 in ICU.

Yesterday, there were 187 patients with Covid-19 in Irish hospitals, with 30 in ICU.

In Northern Ireland, there has been a further 1,641 cases of Covid-19 reported.

Three further people diagnosed with the virus have also died.
