Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo is facing pressure from prominent US politicians to resign after an investigation found he sexually assaulted 11 women.
President Joe Biden is among the politicians calling for Cuomo to stand down, as is Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
“I think he should resign”, Joe Biden said.
New York Attorney General Letitia James led a five-month long investigation, which concluded that eleven women who said Cuomo had touched them inappropriately, commented on their appearance or made suggestive comments about their sex lives, were telling the truth.
“These interviews and pieces of evidence revealed a deeply disturbing yet clear picture: Gov Cuomo sexually harassed current and former state employees in violation of federal and state laws,” New York Attorney General Letitia James said.
Many of the women who were assaulted said they were afraid to come forward as they feared retaliation.
The investigation findings, as well as the mounting political pressure, including from the President, turns up the pressure on Cuomo to resign.
