Elderly man dies following road collision in Tipperary

A man in his 80s has died following a road collision in Tipperary yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:40pm at Loughlin’s Bridge in Clogheen where it’s understood the man crashed into a tree.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, received treatment at the scene but was later pronounced dead.

His body has since been removed to Waterford University Hospital to undergo a post-mortem examination.

The road has since reopened but investigations remain ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or is in possession of dash-cam footage of the incident to contact them.
