Teenager dies following road collision in Dublin

Investigations are ongoing after a teenager was killed and another was injured following a collision between two motorcycles and a car in Dublin.

The incident occurred last night at approximately 10:15am on the Finglas Road in Glasnevin. Two teenagers were taken to the Mater Hospital following the collision.

One of the teenagers, who was the driver of one of the motorcycles, was pronounced dead in hospital.

The other teenager, who was the passenger on one of the motorcycles, is continuing to receive treatment for injuries that are understood to be non-life-threatening.

The driver of the car was uninjured, according to gardaí.

The road has since been reopened after forensic collision investigators completed their examination of the scene.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

Any road users that were travelling on the Finglas Road between 10:10pm and 10:25pm, who are in possession of dash-cam footage, are asked to make the footage available to gardaí.
