Gardaí have launched an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a Defence Forces member at a quarantine hotel in Dublin city.
The incident occurred on Monday at a hotel used for mandatory hotel quarantine in the south of the city.
“As the matter is the subject of an ongoing garda investigation, it is inappropriate and not possible for us to comment any further,” a spokesperson for the Defence Forces said.
No arrests have been made as of yet and an investigation is underway.
The Defence Forces have the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day running of quarantine hotels, and supporting the various Government agencies involved in the system.
No further information has yet been released.
