COVID-19: 1,408 new confirmed cases in Ireland

The Department of Health has confirmed a further 1,408 cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

No information surrounding deaths associated with the virus has been released due to the cyber attack on the HSE.


The Department has further confirmed that there are currently 152 patients in Irish hospitals with Covid-19, with 26 in ICU.

Yesterday, there were 142 patients in Irish hospitals with Covid-19, with 27 in intensive care units.

In Northern Ireland, there has been a further 1,600 cases of Covid-19 reported.


Three further people diagnosed with the virus have also died.
