Actor Bob Odenkirk was rushed to hospital yesterday after collapsing on the set of the AMC show ‘Better Call Saul’.
TMZ first reported the incident, stating that Odenkirk was stricken while filming a scene in New Mexico and that he was immediately surrounded by crew members.
The accuracy of TMZ’s claims was confirmed by two sources who emailed Reuters on the basis that they were not named.
As of 7:30pm local time, the 58-year-old remains in hospital and it’s unclear as to whether he was conscious when he was transported to hospital.
The cause behind the collapse or how long the actor will be in hospital remains unknown.
Odenkirk is best known for his character Jimmy McGill AKA Saul Goodman, a lawyer who exhibits a witty persona but an effective use of his skills in regards to acquitting his clients by means of dirty tactics and illegal schemes.
Odenkirk’s initial appearance as Saul Goodman was made in the neo-western crime drama ‘Breaking Bad’ which was then followed by ‘Better Call Saul’ which serves as a prequel to the Breaking Bad timeline.
Before his character Saul Goodman came to life, Odenkirk was best known for Mr Show With Bob and David which aired on HBO between 1995 and 1998.
He also won two Emmys for his writing on the Ben Stiller Show and on Saturday Night Live. He also made an appearance on HBO’s The Larry Sanders Show as well as The Post and Little Women.
