The number of guests allowed to attend a wedding from August has been increased to 100.
This follows a Cabinet meeting that took place earlier today.
Following the meeting, it was also decided to extend Covid-19 vaccines to children aged between 12 and 15 years old based on advice from the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC).
Baptisms will allow up to 50 guests to be in attendance.
The increased capacity for weddings gained much support from ministers as the pace increases on the vaccine rollout, with around 70% of all Irish adults now being fully vaccinated.
Parental consent will be required in order for children between 12 to 15 years to be vaccinated.
The vaccine campaign for this age cohort will start as soon as possible with appointments being offered as early as next week.
