Elderly man dies following car crash in Meath

A man in his late 60s has died following a car collision in Meath yesterday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:40pm in Mandistown, Drumconrath in Navan where the man collided with a wall.


The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The scene was examined by gardaí, who are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.


Gardaí are also urging road users who were in the townland of Mandistown yesterday evening and have dash cam footage, to come forward.
