The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has directed trial on indictment which means that the boy will face trial in the Central Criminal Court for the rape charge.

In regards to the sexual assault charge, a preliminary hearing will be held to decide if this charge should be separately dealt with at the Children’s Court.

The 15-year-old boy was ordered by Judge Theresa Kelly to appear in court again in September.

As part of his bail conditions, he cannot contact the complainant in any manner, including social media.
