Musician Eric Clapton has stated that he refuses to play at venues that enforce vaccine passes.
While explaining his decision, Clapton stated that he doesn’t want to play on “any stage where there is a discriminated audience present”.
He added that he was honour-bound to make an announcement of his own following the Prime Minister’s announcement.
He also stated that unless there is a provision made for everyone to attend his shows, he reserves the right to cancel his concerts.
Clapton has been quite vocal about his opinions on the Covid-19 vaccine as well as lockdowns.
Both Clapton and Van Morrison teamed up last year to release the anti-lockdown track ‘Stand and Deliver’, which includes the lyrics, “Do you wanna be a free man / Or do you wanna be a slave?”.
Clapton also voiced his opinion on the AstraZeneca vaccine which he was administered back in May, where he claimed to have experienced a severe reaction to the vaccine which had him wondering if he was ever going to play guitar again.
