WATCH: Trailer for The Last Duel, the movie starring Matt Damon and filmed in Ireland

Everyone remembers the hysteria which emerged last year in the country, when Matt Damon became an unofficial Irish citizen.

Damon was in Ireland filming for The Last Duel, which is a movie co-written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

The Last Duel is directed by Ridley Scott, who is most commonly known for directing Alien, Gladiator and The Martian.

The movie is based on the true story of King Charles VI, who declares that Knight Jean de Carrouges should settle his dispute with his squire LeGris by challenging him to a duel.

The dispute is based on a claim from Carrouges’ wife who accuses LeGris of assaulting her while Carrogues was away.

The Last Duel is to be released in Irish cinemas on Friday, October 15th.
