Founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos will fly into space today on his own rocket.
Bezos founded aerospace company, Blue Origin, and Bezos will be on board the company’s first crewed mission into space.
On Board the New Shepard rocket will be Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark Bezos, aviator Wally Funk and Dutchman Oliver Daemen.
Wally Funk, who is 82-years-old, will be the oldest astronaut to travel to space. 18-year-old Daemen will be the youngest.
The journey will consist of an 11-minute run from Texas to beyond the Karman line, which is the internationally recognised boundary of space.
“This is about building a road to space so that future generations can do incredible things in space,” Bezos said.
Lift-off is currently set for 8am local time, or 2pm Irish time.
