Search for missing Sligo teenager stopped after body found in River Liffey

The search for a missing Sligo teenager has been stopped after a body has been recovered from the River Liffey in Dublin.

16-year-old Hazhar Hashemi went missing from his home in Drumcliffe, Sligo on Tuesday.

An Garda Síochána issued a nationwide appeal for Hasehemi on Thursday.

However, the search has been stood down after a body was recovered from the River Liffey on Friday.

A Garda spokesperson said, “An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter. No further action is required and no further information is available at this time.”
