Young woman killed following hit-and-run incident in Donegal

A 34-year-old woman has been killed following a hit-and-run incident in Letterkenny, Donegal.

The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning at approximately 2:45am when she was struck by a white van.


The hit-and-run occurred on the N15 at Townparks, Lifford, where the woman was treated by emergency services.

She was subsequently taken to University Letterkenny Hospital by ambulance where she was pronounced dead.

Gardaí stated that the driver of the van failed to remain at the scene and has not yet been located.


The woman’s body is to undergo a post-mortem examination while an investigation remains ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information in relation to the incident to contact Letterkenny Garda Station at 074 916 7116 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.

Gardaí are also appealing to the van driver to come forward.
