Biden claims US war in Afghanistan will end on August 31st

US President Joe Biden has claimed the US military mission in Afghanistan will end on August 31st.

Biden claims the US seeks to end the war which has been taking place for nearly 20 years.

“How many more, how many more thousands of American daughters and sons are you willing to risk?,” Biden said to those calling for the US to extend their time in Afghanistan.

“Afghan leaders have to come together and drive toward a future,” he said.

The Taliban has made rapid advances in the region in recent times.

“I will not send another generation of Americans to war in Afghanistan, with no reasonable expectation of achieving a different outcome.”

Biden went on to say that he does not trust the Taliban, but he trusts the capacity of the Afghan military to defend the Government.
