Nearly half of the adult population in Ireland are now fully vaccinated

Nearly half of the adults in Ireland are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19

68% of the adult population has received at least one vaccine, and 46% are fully vaccinated.

However, in the 60-69 age cohort only 43% are fully vaccinated.

This age cohort is expected to be fully vaccinated over the next two weeks.

From Monday, 18-34-year-olds will be able to avail of the single-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

The move will greatly accelerate the vaccination programme in Ireland.
